Beekeeping you came into my life by pure chance, but the day that I visited my first hive, I decided that I gave up on the idea for this small but immense world.
My first year of beekeeping, I discovered that the bees are the medicine of my lifeI have learned so much from them: the strength of the union in the pursuit of a common goal, the importance of mutual aid and the value of the sacrifice, but what really touched her was to realize that in the face of a problem or a difficulty the bees put the individual in order to protect the common good.
When I cheesy on the first frame I have moved seeing all the work that creatures so small they are capable of doing. Kilos and kilos of honey, for us they are only a jar on a shelf, but for a family of bees are their entire life. The honey is not a giftthe honey is what we bring forth creatures who work hard and devotedly, not only producing so precious, but also protecting our environment, our food and our ecosystem with this awareness we should reflect more deeply on what we buy, to the consequences of what we do, to the food that we eat.
This experience has opened me up to a world inexplicably unknown: how can we live in a environment that we do not know, we do not understand and that in the majority of cases, even care? Study the api has taken me to do more readings, scientific, observe the plants that surround me, to learn the rhythm of the seasons and all of this has inevitably changed my way of being in the world. This is of immense comfort to look around to know that the place we find ourselves, by what we are surrounded, why things happen, I think it is a great help also at a psychological level, to be able to look at things from a perspective that is larger. For me, without a doubt, is the answer to every problem: at the end I are only a tiny part and, in spite of this, are fundamental for the life.
I never imagined that one time, when I said “Ah, anyway, I decided to take a course in beekeeping” I would have changed and devastated life so deeply.
When you are surrounded by that hum therapeutic and flooded by the perfumes benefits of the hive I am happy. Why, then, happiness is found in every part of nature, not only in the world of the bees, but everywhere, among the ants, in the sky, the trees, and a stone. Nature can teach us so much if only mine to enter into our lives. To understand it, and love it because it can protect us and inspire us.
For many it will be only a jar of honey in their kitchen but, for me, is the sense of every day, I hope that tasting it you will think about it and feel all the life it contains.
